The Evolution of Earth X Venom (May Parker) in Other Media

Having recently tracked down the necessary elements needed, I decided to finally put together this long-overdue video demonstrating the Evolution of Earth X Venom aka May Parker in Other Media.

The years noted are the year the original media was released and, where different, the year the character appeared (has far as I've been able to ascertain). Here is a list of the appearances in this video:

Earth X Hardcover Book Clamshell by Graphitti Designs: A Music Video included with the release animated by David Riske (2001)

Activision's Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro as an Alternate Costume for Spider-Man as voiced by Rino Romano (2001)

Gameloft's Spider-Man Unlimited mobile game (2014) though the character wasn't added until January 2017. The voice actress remains uncredited. If anyone has any information, let me know!

Music: 'Tangled Web (Peter & May Parker)' from the Earth X Soundtrack by Scott Vladimir Licina
I don't claim to own any of the trademarks or copyrights on the characters, concepts or music featured in this video. It was made purely out of love of the character and I make no profit from this video. Please support the media and games featured in this video by buying a copy. Made under 'Fair Use' as the video does not affect the copyright and trademark holders from profiting and promotes their works.

Until I get more time to put into these things (maybe when I retire a millionaire), I remain

Spider-Girl HeroClix

Despite my lack of knowledge on how to play, I've always appreciated the HeroClix tabletop game. Today I'll be taking a very brief look at the current and upcoming Spider-Girl miniatures available for the game.

The first Spider-Girl miniature for HeroClix was released in 2008 as part of the Secret Invasion series. Figure 041 here is actually the only one I own myself, and is apparently rare.

The next time a Spider-Girl miniature released was as figure 008 of 2016's Superior Foes of Spider-Man series. The first image below is the computer render from the official site. A black and white painted 'sketch variant' is also available, but I think the best part of this piece is the attention to detail on the abilities card.

Finally, we have the newest figure which is due for official release February 6 this year. From the Earth X series, we have figure 001a. Apparently this version of May 'Mayday' Parker is a variant of the Earth X Venom miniature which would explain the costume inaccuracies somewhat.

I really love the attention to detail with the nod to A-Next and May's strength in comparison to her father. Nice touches. I'm considering tracking these figures down just so I can have them for my collection. Who knows, perhaps one day I'll even learn how to play!

Until I master the tabletop game format, I remain

Mayhem and Earth X Venom in Venomverse?

As Spideydude.com brought to my attention, Mayhem aka April Parker and the Earth X Venom aka May Parker are featured on the promotional artwork by Clayton Crain for the upcoming Venomverse event mini series which will be written by Cullen Bunn.

While this isn't confirmation that the characters will actually feature in the event, it's certainly worth keeping an eye on. My only hope is that the characters won't be mistreated or altered beyond recognition in the way that Spider-Verse single-handedly changed the MC2's Mayday by killing her father. Only time will tell.

Black-Suit Spider-Girl and Earth X Venom Hitting Spider-Man Unlimited

It looks like with the newest update of the mobile phone game Spider-Man Unlimited set to arrive shortly, MC2 fans will be treated to a few familiar playable characters.

Of course, the release times aren't know yet, but assets from the game, along with material officially released by Gameloft make mention of Black-Suit Spider-Girl, Spider-Venom and Venom (May Parker).

The Venom of Earth X has also been referred to as 'Venom X' so obviously the titles are still up in the air at this point.

The update also sees some major changes to the game's rank-up system and a new filtering system for the player's team of Spider-folks.

Until I stop being excited by this stuff, I remain

MC2 Multiplicity Madness

Let's talk about multiples of MC2 characters!

Cassie Lang

First up is Cassandra 'Cassie' Lang, daughter of Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man. In the regular Marvel Universe (Earth-616) Cassie's fathers death during 'Avengers Disassembled' led her to join the Young Avengers while still in her teens and take the name Stature using similar size-changing abilities to those of Giant-Man/Ant-Man and Wasp.

Another older version of Cassie (now going by Stinger) appears in Avengers: The Children's Crusade: Young Avengers one-shot. Noticeable her costume is taken from the MC2 version of the character.

Then, of course we have our dear Stinger from the MC2. A talented scientist in various fields, Cassie used the work of Dr Henry Pym (the original Ant-Man) to grant herself wings and size-changing powers.  She worked alongside her father, Scott Lang before joining the Avengers of her world.

Kevin Masterson

Next we have Kevin Masterson, son of Eric Masterson- formerly a fill-in Thor and later the Avenger known as Thunderstrike. Kevin of the main Marvel Universe grows up angry following the death of his father, and as a young teenager eventually gains his fathers powers and becomes the second Thunderstrike.

Meanwhile, the Kevin Masterson of the MC2 received his fathers enchanted mace upon his 18th birthday, leading to the events that brought the Avengers of this generation together. Becoming  Thunderstrike despite his mixed feelings about his deceased father's 'hobby', Kevin proved himself worthy, now wielding thunder-blasts and super-strength.

 May 'Mayday' Parker

Lastly we have May 'Mayday' Parker, the daughter of Peter Parker- the Amazing Spider-Man. In the reality of Earth X (Earth-9997), May's mother Mary Jane died of cancer when she was young. At some point she bonded with the symbiote formerly joined to Eddie Brock and becomes an adventurer and police officer. This May goes by the name Venom and has all the abilities of the symbiote, and an excellent spider-sense. She recently showed up in Uncanny Avengers:

Venom of this world also encounters another Spider-Girl, from Earth-1122. She is recruited into a team known as the Heralds by the Machine Man. Apart from being a little less mature her origin appeared to be the same as our Mayday...until she announces she is the daughter of Peter's clone 'brother,' Ben Reilly. Her costume looks almost exactly the same as the MC2 Spider-Girl, though I like to think of her as having more Steve Ditko-esque eye-pieces and web pattern. Or I'm being pedantic.

We aren't done yet, oh no. There's the 20-something redheaded Spider-Girl of the year 2020. On Earth-8410, this May's father passed away sometime after she began as a costumed hero. Her powers also include 'venom blasts' similar to the original Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew. In fact, her costume strongly resembles Drew's as well.

Finally, we have the MC2's own Spectacular Spider-Girl. May 'Mayday' Parker is the 16 year old daughter of Spider-Man. Possessing all the usual abilities, her unique powers also include the ability to bio-magnetically attract and repel objects-something I believe none of the other May's have displayed. Mayday's costume currently includes an extended blue area under the arms as well as modified web-shooters which really helps to differentiate her from other versions.

Well ,there you have it folks! Can't you just imagine a crossover between these different versions of the same characters. Wouldn't that be completely mental?! Wouldn't that be fun?!
